Moodle should not be confused with muddle. Moodle is a multi-object orientated dynamic learning environment. It is run through a server and in VERY simplistic terms is a controlled environment which can be designed for students to use and teachers to organise learning. Instead of using text books, notes, video and audio recordings and all other resources when planing work - it can ll be done using the moodle construct. "Social construction" is a term often associated with the moodle.
Imagine a wikispace on steroids ................................. better yet imagine your classroom on the internet with 24 hour access and all members having 24/7 access to each other.

  • no more having to share texts
  • students work at own pace
  • able to link with any resource on internet
  • able to track student work for assessment
  • students away from school can access work....
  • a different way of programming and assessment
  • need for professional development in building units of work and courses
  • need for whole school approach because it uses server technology
